As Canada moves to legalize weed, the glass pipe and bong market is expected to explode. Some rigs are already selling for tens of thousands of dollars and collectors from all over the world are lining up to buy the works of old school glass blowers. But recent comments by cannabis lifestyle start-up Tokyo Smoke questioned stoner glass aesthetics and sparked a fierce debate in the cannabis community. VICE travels across North America and meets with Canadian glass artists Redbeard, Goolen, and Matt Robertson as they produce pieces in their workshop, test their favourite rigs, and tell us why they want to protect glass blowing from mass-production takeover.

Before Adam Hoens heads to his day job at the Vancouver airport, he wakes up early to sketch and paint his favourite hip hop artists. He goes by @ndlocal on Instagram and his colourful portraits have amassed over 10,000 followers. He's been clean for the last decade and now he's trying to use his sense of to help fight the city's growing opioid crisis. It is a collaboration between everyone who has a connection to Peace Region and forms a cohesive picture of what stands to be lost forever if the Site C dam is constructed. Proceeds from My Peace River go to the Treaty 8 First Nations to help in their legal battle against the Site C Dam.
