JONATHAN KRAUTH, Director/Cinematographer
Jonathan Krauth is an accomplished Director and Cinematographer. His Journey in Film started at the University of Lethbridge where he received his BFA in Video Production and New Media. He is the owner of Green Couch Productions and the founder and creative producer of the Green Couch Sessions, a guerrilla music video project gaining international acclaim.
Jonathan’s interview/filming credits include Grammy award winning group Passenger, the legendary Quincy Jones, Dan Mangan, Raine Maida, Vance Joy, Snow Patrol and countless others. As of recently he has been working with VICE CANADA to shoot their Vancouver based stories for their series “Daily Vice” and their short format documentaries which cover Political and Social issues faced in and around the Lower Mainland.
He has also worked with many foundations and nonprofits including the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Quitters Unite to create viral-promotional campaigns. As well as reputable brands like VISA, Clearly, HP, Grolsch and Roland Canada to create branded content that align with the brands vision.
Jonathan loves developing concepts and creating a vision at a moment's notice. This type of film making has allowed him to adapt to any situation, being creative with his resources to make any moment one to remember. Jonathan also wishes to pursue the use of Documentary Film as tool for Social Change and as a way to create a new dialogue about specific issues that we face as a society today.
Jonathan Krauth was born in Caracas,Venezuela and is fluent in Spanish. He currently resides in Vancouver, BC.
